Gift Wrap Style: 100 Candles Lit at Night
When I first moved to New York, money was extremely tight. Eating at restaurants was totally out of the question. Dinner for me meant a bowl of microwaveable instant noodles, with all my apartment lights switched off and with a few candles lighting up my make-shift dinner table. I so remember those nights with such fondness… first apartment, first job, enjoying a quiet moment in solitude.

Gift Wrap Paper: Spaghetti & Meatballs
I’ve loved spaghetti ever since I was a kid. I probably was eating it when I was still an embryo. It is just a shame that I now limit how much of it I eat because of this stupid low-carb diet I am on. Why is it that we sacrifice our true happiness just to fit into skinny jeans? Is it really worth it?

Gift Wrap Paper: Whipped Cream & Rainbow Sprinkles
It was in the US that I first tasted ice cream cake. And it was during my first job that I bought my first spray can of instant whipped cream. Since then, I always have whipped cream handy to spice up any dessert. It also helps force me to eat more fruit. I probably am cheating by putting whipped cream on something healthy. Probably.

Gift Wrap Paper: Pebbles
If you see my apartment, it’s very Zen. Down to the stereotypical decor of pebbles in a glass bowl. My city is so noisy that I need my apartment to be quieter, more minimal. When I was younger, my favorite color was purple. Now, it’s a combination of white and gray.

Gift Wrap Paper: Sky
Why don’t we look up more? Why do we look down while we walk? I mean, the sky is so pretty. It’s such a shame that we rush through our motions too much and miss something so pretty. I find it strange that people pay for expensive restaurants or apartments with awesome overlooking views. All you have to do is look up.

Gift Wrap Paper: Grass
I started in New York very very poor. All I could afford was a slice of pizza, a can of soda and lying on the grass at Bryant Park to look at the sky. I had big dreams back then. I still have big dreams now. What’s different is that I now know that the most enjoyable things in life can be found in something so simple and free.
